Our Programs and Initiatives

Our ESL classes for adult learners focus on improving practical English skills through interactive activities and personalized instruction. Experienced instructors create a supportive environment for developing proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Our financial literacy classes for all learners cover essential topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management. These interactive sessions, led by experienced instructors, provide practical tools and knowledge for achieving financial stability and independence.

Our educational programs include home health aide training classes which provide instruction in English and Creole on essential caregiving skills, including patient care, hygiene, and emergency response. Other courses TBA. 

The "Rosette Gaston Lanauze Legacy Scholarship" will be awarded to a student currently enrolled in a college level healthcare program or who has an official acceptance into a college level healthcare program and will be entering college in Fall 2024. Additional Criteria:

  1. Must be legally eligible to attend an educational institution in the US.
  2. Must submit a one-page essay comprised of 150-250 words, doubled-spaced addressing the following: 
    1. Your major 
    2. Why you chose your profession
    3. How have you been involved in your community
    4. Why you should be selected to receive the award
    5. Full name of applicant, name of college or university that you attend or will be attending in the Fall of 2024, and your student classification (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) and contact information (phone number, email address).

Note: Applicants are still required to purchase tickets to the gala. 

 

 

Our job preparation workshops cover essential skills such as resume writing, interviewing techniques, and professional attire. These interactive sessions, led by experienced career advisors, provide practical tools and insights to help learners confidently navigate the job search process.
 
Our community outreach programs, including health fairs and food distribution events, aim to provide essential services and resources to local residents. These initiatives, organized by dedicated volunteers and professionals, promote health, wellness, and food security within the community.
 

Immigration service programs include but are not limited to application for naturalization, assistance with seeking asylum, and assistance with working papers. Legal assistance programs offer legal advice, representation, and advocacy to immigrants dealing with issues such as asylum and deportation.
